JOB TITLE: Mechanical Production Worker

REPORTS TO: Production Supervisor

SUMMARY: This position is primarily responsible for mechanical production by performing the following duties.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist team in building equipment and/or equipment parts at the highest quality.

  • Make final adjustments and calibrations to equipment

  • Use assigned work orders provide by Supervisor to build equipment and/or equipment parts.

  • Once fully trained, have the ability to inspect equipment and equipment parts along with troubleshoot problems with equipment/devices to come up with a solution.

  • Pick and gather parts

  • Use written instructions to build equipment and equipment parts

  • Maintains a productivity rate of a minimum of 100% after training period

  • Does all required work within Kegel’s Quality Policy

  • Keep work area clean

  • Use proper safety equipment

  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED), and 3 years related mechanical, electrical or carpentry experience (minimum 1 of 3 skills) or equivalent combination of the 2‐3 skills giving a total of 3 years of experience.

  • Use a variety of hand & power tools, fixtures, read work instructions and test equipment to build equipment and/or equipment parts.

  • Must be able to read a tape measure

  • Read English

  • Perform a series of operations to correctly build/assembly/test equipment and/or equipment parts.

  • Follow simple instructions

  • Self‐motivated individual

  • Have the ability to work Monday‐Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM (at a minimum)

  • Have the ability once fully trained to understand the importance of the process of building equipment and/or equipment parts at the highest quality.

QUALIFICATIONS THAT’S A PLUS BUT NOT A REQUIREMENT:

  • Has worked in related fields to have a good understanding of proper soldering, crimping, pining and pin location on plugs.

  • Properly use a drill press

  • Have a good understanding of properly reaming, drilling and taping different types of metals and plastics.

  • Properly use a handheld router

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Continually required to stand

  • Frequently required to walk

  • Frequently required to sit

  • Continually required to utilize hand and finger dexterity

  • Frequently required to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel or crawl

  • Frequently required to talk or hear

  • Occasionally work near moving mechanical parts

  • Occasionally exposure to risk of electrical shock

  • While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate

  • The employee must occasionally lift and /or move up to 50 pounds / continually lift and/or move up to 10 pounds

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include: Color vision; Peripheral vision; and Depth perception
